In this blog, we'll introduce you to five of our favorite sustainable kids clothing brands, including Hello Simone, The Campamento, Misha and Puff, Piupiuchick, and Emile et Ida.

Our 5 Favorite Sustainable Kids Clothing Brands

As sustainable kids clothes become more popular and more brands seek to improve their sustainability and ethical production practices, you might be wondering, what makes these brands so special? These kids clothing brands produce in small batches, following a slow-fashion approach to children's clothing. Each of these ‘niche’ brands has its own unique style that we’re sure you’ll come to know and love just as much as we do here at Coucou!

Hello Simone

Hello Simone is a Paris-based brand that was founded in 2014 by designer Tifenn Duchatelle. The brand's collections are inspired by the designer's childhood and her travels around the world. Each season, Hello Simone releases a unique collection of clothing that is designed to be mixed and matched. The brand's pieces are fun, colorful, and playful, perfect for kids who love to express themselves through their clothing.

In addition to their beautiful designs, Hello Simone is also committed to producing sustainable and ethical clothing. The brand's clothing is made using high-quality materials, including organic cotton and wool. Stylish and practical, these pieces are designed to be worn for a long time, with many pieces being able to be passed down through generations. At Coucou, we love Hello Simone's playful designs and commitment to ethical and sustainable practices.

The Campamento

The Campamento is a Spanish brand that we recently began carrying here at Coucou. The brand's founder, Almudena, has always been passionate about design and creativity, and she's made it her life's mission to create beautiful clothing for children. The brand's collections are inspired by the designer's travels and her passion for nature and the outdoors. The brand's name, The Campamento, translates to "the camp" in English, which is fitting given the brand's focus on outdoor adventure and exploration.

The Campamento produces all of its pieces in Portugal, where its skilled textile workers are treated and compensated fairly. They’re also meticulous in their use of fabrics, crafting all of their cotton knitwear pieces from GOTS-certified 100% organic cotton. Not only that but their simple and playful styles are always filled with fun graphics, bold colors, and prints that are reminiscent of the natural world.

Misha and Puff

It’s no secret that we’re cuckoo for Misha and Puff here at Coucou. After all, we wrote an entire blog post dedicated to the brand - detailing why we’re so obsessed with the brand!

Misha and Puff is an American brand that was founded in 2011 by designer Anna Wallack. The brand's collections are inspired by Anna's love for vintage clothing. Each season, Misha and Puff releases a unique collection of clothing that is designed to be mixed and matched. The brand's pieces are fun, colorful, and playful. Beautiful knitted pieces lie at the heart of the Misha and Puff brand. After all, the entire brand was born from Anna’s passion for knitting beautiful pieces for her children!

In addition to its beautiful designs, Misha and Puff is also committed to producing sustainable and ethical clothing. The brand's clothing is made using high-quality materials, including organic cotton, and is produced in Peru. Misha and Puff's clothing is designed to be worn for a long time, with many pieces being able to be passed down through generations and even resold. At Coucou, we love Misha and Puff! After all, what’s not to love? Each piece is incredibly well thought out from start to finish, exclusive due to limited production, made to last, and sustainable!

Piupiuchick

Piupiuchick is a Portuguese brand that was founded in 2012 by designer Ines Henriques. The brand's collections are known for its bold colors and vintage flair. Each season, Piupiuchick releases a unique collection of clothing that’s highly sought-after, selling out in a matter of minutes! The brand's pieces are fun, colorful, and playful, perfect for kids who love looking stylish and feeling comfortable too.

In addition to its beautiful designs, Piupiuchick is also committed to producing sustainable and ethical clothing. The brand's clothing is made using high-quality materials, including organic cotton, and is produced in Portugal. Piupiuchick's clothing is designed to be worn for a long time! With their timeless vintage-inspired styles, each piece can be worn again and again and  even be passed down through generations. At Coucou, we love Piupiuchick's commitment to ethical processes and ability to produce stylish sustainable kids clothes.

Marsou

Marsou Paris is a sustainable brand that was born in 2019. The brand was founded by Nadia Azoug and is based in Paris, France. Marsou is known for creating beautiful, timeless pieces that are designed to be worn for generations to come. The brand’s designs are inspired by the French Riviera and are made in small batches in their Parisian atelier by a small team of skilled seamstresses.

The brand’s sustainability approach is centered around small-batch production and the upcycling of materials. Marsou’s small batch production approach allows them to reduce waste and overproduction. The brand also upcycles deadstock fabrics from other French designer brands to create new garments. Marsou Paris’ designs are made to last, and they are committed to creating pieces that are timeless, seasonless, and sustainable. At CouCou, we love sustainable kids clothes that can be worn and loved forever!

Final Thoughts

At Coucou, we’ve made it our mission to share beautiful children’s clothing brands with our community. Each brand we’ve shared in this post from Hello Simone to Misha and Puff, and Piupiuchik are fairly-made in small batches, challenging the modern-day convention of fast-fashion. These niche brands offer the best of both worlds, fashion and sustainability! Not only that, but they’re made to last and can be worn for generations or resold.
